Truro City 4 - 1 Thatcham Town
City had few problems as they cruised into the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy with a dominant performance at Treyew Road on Saturday.
Two goals by Stewart Yetton and one from Andy Taylor, plus an own goal, took City through They totally outclassed the Berkshire visitors to ensure their would be no Halloween shock result.
From the start City bossed the tie and three goals in a 15 minute spell midway through the first half effectively settled the match.
The first came in the 15th minute when Scott walker's superb crossfield ball form the left found right back Barry McConnell and he slipped the ball inside for Taylor to drive home an unstoppable left footed drive into the top corner past keeper Paul Strudley's despairing dive to his right.
Five minutes later Thatcham defender Sam Rea could only head a Walker free-kick into his own net to put City 2-0 up.
It was all Truro with Yetton hitting the underside of the bar from close range and Strudley making a great save to palm away skipper Marcus Martin's header.
But the third goal came just before the half hour when Yetton stole in at the near post to tuck away Les Afful's cross from the right.
After the break with the game effectively won the pace rather slackened and Thatcham pulled a goal back after 67 minutes through Jemel Johnson, who had just come on as a sub..
But Yetton's close range effort seven minutes later ended any hopes of a Thatcham fight back as City reached the third qualifying round for the first time.
