Truro City 1-0 Gloucester City
Truro City booked their place in the first round of the FA Trophy for the first time in the club's history at the expense of Gloucester City on Tuesday night.
Arran Pugh's first half strike was enough to hand City victory over their Blue Square Conference South opponents on a blustery evening at Treyew Road.
With the the heavy wind behind them in the opening 45 minutes Sean McCarthy's men created a number of goalscoring chances.
But at the interval Pugh's 28th minute goal was all that separated the sides. Pugh claimed the final touch at the back post when he forced the ball home with the help of the upright from Lee Hodges' wind-assisted free-kick on the right.
And even with gale force winds behind them in the second half, Gloucester failed to break down a stubborn home defence as Truro clinched a place in the next round, where they will travel to Chelmsford, who beat Hornchurch 2-1, on December 12.
