Bashley 2-0 Truro City
A night of missed chances for City cost them dearly as new manager Steve Thompson suffered his first defeat since replacing Sean McCarthy last month.
The visitors had enough good opportunities to have taken at least a point from the game at Bashley Road and the Hampshire side took full advantage to claim the win in a game watched by a crowd of 215.
City started with the same line-up that won so well at Cambridge City on Saturday and began well enough with Andy Watkins and Les Afful both missing good chances.
But it was Bashley who went ahead after 32 minutes when Dave Allen raced on to a long ball to beat Martin Rice with a cool finish.
After the break City pressed for an equaliser, but their finishing was again poor and Bashley sealed victory two minutes from time when Jack Keeler's 25-yard free-kick took a deflection off the Truro wall to wrongfoot Rice.
