Truro City 3 - 1 Hemel Hempstead Town
Truro City ended their long wait for a home win in the premier division of the Zamaretto Southern League with a well deserved victory over the struggling visitors at treyew Road on Tuesday evening.
Two goals from Marvin Brown and one from strike partner Andy Watkins gave City their first home success since beating Tiverton Town on August 31.
And the home side should have won by a much bigger margin missing a string of chances against the Tudors who have picked up just one point away from home all season.
City took the lead after 18 minutes when Watkins followed up to score after Marvin Brown's effort was blocked by Tudors' keeper Will Viner.
And seven minutes later Brown lashed home City's second after being put through by Steve Adams.
But some sloppy defensive play allowed Danny Granville to pull a goal back just before half time.
However, in stoppage time Brown restored City's two goal advantage scoring at the far post after Arran Pugh had headed on skipper Andy Taylor's free-kick.
The second saw City squander a host of opportunities to increase their lead but in the end they were just grateful to get that elusive home win.
