Truro City 0- 0 Swindon Supermarine
City's outside hopes of reaching the play-offs in the Zammaretto Southern League premier division suffered a surprise setback when they were held by the struggling visitors on Saturday.
In one of the poorest games seen at Treyew Road this season City were far from their best and laboured to create chances against a determined Swindon side.
City, who were without top scorer Andy Watkins because of illness and this gave Stewart Yetton his first start since new manager Steve Thompson took over at the end of December, in the only change from the side that won at Merthyr Tydfil in midweek.
And it was Yetton who carried City's biggest threat in a game of few chances.
In the opening minute he forced a smart save out of Matt Bullman in the Swindon goal but it was a rare test for either keeper in a dire first half.
Bullman did well to turn away Martin Watts' drive just before half time, while at the other end Martin Rice was hardly called into action.
Thankfully the second half was an improvement and Rice was quickly called into action to deny Robert Hobbs, while Nick Stanley shot just wide,
At the other end Bullman produced a top quality save diving to his left to turn away a Yetton snap shot.
Yetton was just unable to get a final tough to a low cross from Watts as the visitors were content to pack their defence and try and catch City on the break.
And despite seven minutes of stoppage time the game rather fizzled out with neither aside really doing enough to win.
City's supporters will be hoping for better fare at Chippenham Town on Tuesday evening.
