City fell to their second consecutive home defeat at the hands of 3rd placed Welling Utd on Saturday, at Treyew Road.
City started the brighter of the teams and nearly took the lead in the first couple of minutes when Les Afful struck the woodwork in the first minute.
However, Welling took the lead in the 5th Minute through leading scorer Andy Pugh struck from the edge of the 18 yard box.
City levelled only 5 minutes later when Barry Hayles struck with a tidy turn and volley from close range, giving City a deserved equaliser.
The scores remained the same until early in the second half when Arran Pugh was caught in possession of the ball and brought down the Welling striker for a penalty. The penalty was subsequently saved, but Welling took the lead from the resulting corner through Loick Pires.
Welling then made it 1-3 when player manager Jamie Day with a 20 yard effort beating Sandercome in City's net.
Truro pulled a goal back in injury time through Barry McConnell but it was all in vain as City slipped to a 2-3 defeat.
Next up for City is Tonbridge Angles at home on 19th November, where they will look to bounce back to form.
