City 2 - 0 Tonbridge

Skipper Jake AshTruro City 2 - 0 Tonbridge Angels

City picked up all 3 points after a hard fought victory against Tonbridge Angels on Saturday to climb to 12th in the League.

Les Afful gave city a deserved lead on 21 minutes with his 5th goal of this season.  A low, hard drive found its way through the Tondridge defenders into the back of the net.

Tonbridge kept coming at City and the Truro back line managed to keep them at bay.  City even had chances to go further ahead but for a goal line clearance and some excellent Tonbridge defending.

With the scoreline at 1 - 0 at half time, Tonbridge were sure to come out firing and that they did creating a number of chances only to find City players defending superbly.  The Angels could not find a way through and City broke away in the 3rd minute of stoppage time to seal the victory.

Dan Smith with a fine run down the left drew in 2 defenders leaving Ed Palmer free on his own and once Smith had found him, Palmer coolly slotted the ball under the advancing Tonbridge 'keeper.

City's next game comes in the FA Trophy on Saturday 26th November away against Gloucester City.

City will be looking to gain revenge on Gloucester after they knocked them out of the FA Cup earlier this season.
