Pugh Hat-Trick Earns Trophy Win

A sensational hat-trick from Centre Half Arran Pugh sent Truro City into the 1st Round of the Carlsberg FA Trophy to face Ebbsfleet.

After a goalless first half, of which the only real action being Stewart Yetton hitting the woodwork, Truro started the second half in bright fashion.

Pugh netted his first goal of the season from a Scott Walker free-kick which was expertly delivered into the box saw Pugh rise tallest to head home.  He soon added a second for City from yet another Walker free-kick to put the home side 2 - 0 up and seemingly in control of the game.

But Gloucester were to fight back and two goals in 2 minutes would see them drag themselves right back into the contest.  Firstly Scott Wilson cooly slotted home in the 85th and then Darren Mullings added a second in the 87th minute.

The drama was not over yet though as the tie seemed to be heading for extra time, Walker stepped up to another free-kick, delivered a fine ball into the Gloucester area and Pugh was on hand to head home and put City into the First Round of the Carlsberg FA Trophy against Ebbsfleet.

The tie will be played at Treyew Road on December 10th, with a 3pm K.O.
