City suffered at the hand of Eastbourne on Saturday 3rd March at Treyew Road
City fell behind on 35 minutes when Gary Hart broke through and fired a shot past Chenoweth giving the visitors a deserved lead.
Their lead was doubled just before half time when Matt Crabb hit a powerful strike into the bottom corner.
City came out fighting in the second half but struggled to gain any momentum and could not get themselves back into the game.
Hodges said on the defeat "There's not a lot you can say about a performance like that, except maybe it was just the culmination of everything - maybe it was the performance that was waiting to happen, sooner or later, after so many battles and so few options. The boys looked dead on their feet; there was no life in us at all. I've asked for minor miracles from them, week in and week out, and maybe this was the day it all caught up with them."
