City fell at home to Bromley on Saturday afternoon at Treyew Road in the Blue Square Conference South.
Tim Sandercombe returned to action on Saturday but was helpless when a wicked deflection gave Bromley the 3 points on Saturday afternoon.
In wet, difficult conditions the two sides went into the half time break goalless despite both sides creating a few chances that could have been put away. It was City, however, that took the lead when Andy Watkins fired home after some good work by Martin Gritton. Gritton could have got himself on the score sheet shortly after but was denied by Welch in the Bromley goal.
Bromley then pulled themselves level when Michael Malcolm broke through and slotted the ball past Sandercombe in the City net. City had chances to get themselves back in front but could not quite find the finishing touch.
Bromley then took the lead in the 78th minute when a free kick on the edge of the area took a wicked deflections and left Sandercombe with no chance.
City will now play league Champions woking in 21st before the last game of the season, at home to Dartford on April 28th.
