Truro City finished the league campaign with a 1-1 draw against Dartford on Saturday at Treyew Road.
With City safe from relegation and Dartford already in the playoffs, one could be forgiven for thinking that this would be seen as a "dead rubber" and both teams could have just gone through the motions in this final game of the season.
That was not to be the case though as Dartford put out a near full-strength side despite their upcoming playoff fixtures. It was them who started the brightest forcing Sandercombe to make a couple of neat stops in order to keep the scores level.
City had chances of their own through Gritton and Watkins but neither could make them count and the teams went into the break at 0-0.
The second half followed suit with Dartford having the better of the opening exchanges but neither team could find a breakthrough.
It was not until the 87th minute when substitute Barry Hayles picked up on some loose Dartford defending and finished calmly to give City the Lead. This was only short lived though as Dartford equalised through Erskine to deny City the 3 points.
City would like to wish Dartford all the best in their upcoming playoff fixtures.
A huge thank you to all who attended this match and a good crowd of 751 for the final match, helped by a good following from the away side.
